THE
OWNERS
Neale & Elaine
People often ask us what we like the most about Tuscany and Ortone, so we've put together a few of our highlights:
-
Hanging out in the loggia, whether it's for a bite to eat or a pre-dinner Martini or just playing games there
-
Monteriggioni - if Disney had built a set of a small, fortified Tuscan village, this would be it!
-
Dinner on the terrace at La Pergola in Radicondoli - the views are absolutely stunning and the pizzas are terrific
-
Watching Earth, Wind & Fire perform at the Lucca Summer Festival on a hot night in a beautiful piazza
-
The simple pleasure of snorkelling with friends in the warm waters of The Mediterranean below the hill top village of Populonia
-
Pottering around the antiques market and antique stores of Arezzo
-
Playing tennis in Radicondoli on a clear, blue day with a backdrop of great views
-
Having a seafood lunch at Baratti bay or Porta Ercole
-
Taking a leisurely walk around the outskirts of Radicondoli with Homer, our spaniel
-
Happy Hour around the pool with our friends
-
Visiting our favourite arts and crafts shop in Massa Maritima
-
Having a late afternoon drink or an ice cream in the Piazza del Campo, Siena's scallop-shaped square
-
Lunch or dinner at our favourite restaurant, Osteria del Borgo in Mensano, a village that's 15 minutes drive from Radicondoli
-
Visiting the Vasari Corridor which links between the Uffizi and the Pitti Palace and which is not open to the public but can be toured in private groups
We completed on Ortone in July 2011 and have spent several years upgrading and improving the property. It's been great fun sourcing antiques, furniture and art from local dealers, craftsmen and artists; alot of which has been bespoke.
Radicondoli is a pretty village and we've made some really good friends, both locals and ex pats.
